wii.jpgPanasonic recently showed off the newest feature for its high-definition televisions which is expected to please the majority of gamers around the world. The company debuted their new -proof televisions at their product showcase in Valencia, CA and explained that the reasoning behind the new design is due to the ever increasing amount of people who throw their Wiimotes at their televisions resulting in massive damage.

The new televisions will be equipped with a specially treated panel that can withstand up to four joules of energy and will be used on both plasma and LCD televisions. To break down what a joule is it’s the unit of measurement for heat electricity and mechanical work and 1 joule roughly equates to the amount of energy need to lift a small apple straight up on meter.

If you’re one of the many gamers who have posted pictures of a cracked TV due to your Wiimote, this might be right up your alley. However, if you can’t afford it we suggest you look into the game Endless Ocean to bring out your calmer, gentler side.
