banjo_threeie.jpgIn a recent question and answer session known as Scribes on ’s website, a fan of the series inquired as to what type of game we can expect from the legendary developer. Connor Willoughby asked the developer if Banjo will stick to his roots in the platform world or if will fall in line with the current trend of third-person shooters.

The developer’s answer confirmed that , as indicated by , will definitely not be a shooter “unless we sell no copies like Ghoulies and out of desperation give him a gun for the next game, but it also won’t be a traditional platformer.” They also indicated that multiplayer will be a big part of Banjo, but how big will be left to our imaginations for the time being.

A unique feature of the original game that became an instant fan favorite was the “worlds within worlds” similar to the levels in Super Mario 64 which allowed players to start in a central place go through doorways to explore different areas. This became one of the many features to make the original stand out among the throng of platformers being made at the time and ultimately one of the best loved games on the Nintendo 64.

No other information has been given regarding a release for the third game in the series. However, it was mentioned that a certain foul-mouthed squirrel will be making an appearance in the game.
