For every positive, there is always one negative. In the case of Metal Gear Solid 4 the positive is the final confirmation of when Snake’s swan song will arrive, but the negative came in a recent interview with MGS creator Hideo Kojima.
In the interview Kojima revealed that certain features had to be cut from the game due to the 50 gigabyte size of the Blue Ray disc for the PS3. It wasn’t indicated what features would be lost but it had been indicated earlier that due to size limitations there would be no Japanese voice track on the American version of the game, and vice-versa.
The benefit to this news is that the game is going to be well worth the wait and last gamers quite a while. However, like Devil May Cry 4, it will probably result in a ridiculously long install time giving you plenty of opportunity to count every hair on your head. This also begs the question is there going to be a “Special Edition” with all of the content on multiple discs?
Kojima went on to say that had there been more room on the discs the quality of the game would have increased as well, which is surprising since the game already looks incredible.
Despite the missing content, gamers are sure to have all their wishes fulfilled when MGS 4 debuts in June.
