Xbox Live to get original shows

Have you recently been bored with all the old content on Marketplace?  Has one more viewing of a South Park episode from four years ago left you cold?  Well, then Microsoft may have some good news for you.  Original shows are coming to Xbox Live.

What exactly are these original shows?  Well, that’s not really clear at the moment.  Peter Safran will apparently produce the content through his company Safran Company (yes, very clever).  So, what exactly does his name mean?  He works with the guys who brought the world Epic Movie and the woman who brought the world My Big Fat Greek Wedding.  Yes, not exactly stellar credentials.

What kind of content are you likely to see?  Expect to see some cheap knock-off skit shows.  Think Mr. Show, except not funny.  Also expect to see some cheaply done animation that may only be slightly less funny than most of Adult Swim’s lineup.  Microsoft hopes to have more partners sign on soon, and apparently so do fans after realizing what they’re getting.
