Finally, King’s Knight! A game that will make you question, did Square really have something to do with this? It just seems so unlike the Square that has become known as a one trick pony.

The Tom Clancy games have had a shaky history on consoles. While the Rainbow Six games have been classics on the PC side for a while now, their console cousins were initially a bit fumbling. The same could be said for the Ghost Recon titles. That, however, has all changed for the better, and apparently Ubisoft thought it was $100 million worth of better.
That sum purchased Ubisoft the rights to the Tom Clancy moniker. That’s right, they now own the rights to the name in games, books, movies and merchandise. So, apparently $100 million can buy you a man’s soul these days, huh? Ubisoft apparently feels that the Clancy name is equivalent to the Madden name, in that it sells the product regardless of what it’s slapped on. This may be true. (more…)
Sure, playing Ace Combat or Microsoft Flight Simulator is fun, but does either fully capture the reality of flying a plane? Hardly. Well, that is unless you add a $17,250 hardware setup along with Microsoft’s software.
That’s exactly what HotSeat is offering with their Flight Sim Chasis. The setup includes three 22-inch LCD monitors and a beast of a computer. It’s powered by a quad core processor, 4GB of RAM and an NVIDIA 512MB graphics card. All of this to run Microsoft Flight Simulator X with the Acceleration Expansion Pack (preinstalled, naturally). Sonic Unleashed is their newest offering, which is still somewhat clouded in mystery. What is known is that the new title will apparently be a 2.5D outing that appears to be running on the PS3/Xbox 360. The game will also focus on series mainstays Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles instead of all the side characters. (more…)
This video is both remarkable and pointless. Did you know you can render 3D graphics in Microsoft Excel? Did you care? Probably not for both, but upon seeing you’ll have a hard time arguing it isn’t a little cool to make such a bland work tool actually do something fun. Now, where are the modders with the Star Fox ports to Excel?
If you ever played much of the original Halo’s multiplayer, then you know Sidewinder was easily one of its best levels. It was a great environment for bases combat. There have been calls for a remade version in both Halo 2 and 3, though now it looks like fans are finally getting their wish. (more…)
GameStop, that bastion of used-game goodness, recently revealed some fairly expected news for gamers. In an investor conference call, GameStop executives revealed that Wii shortages will likely last the next six months, while both the Xbox 360 and PS3 look headed for $50 price drops.
Executives stressed that the price cuts were not official but simply their speculation. They also happened to speculate about a $30 price cut on the PS2. None of this is too surprising, as people have been expecting such a cut on the PS2 for nearly a year now. The Xbox 360 and PS3 price cuts would go a long way toward getting both closer to a mass market price of $200-250. (more…)
Cosplay, if you don’t know, is the act of dressing up like your favorite video game character. Why would you do this? For conventions and Halloween, and just general fun one would guess. Anyway, London was recently the sight of “The Largest Gathering of Games Characters,” an attempt to set a Guinness world record. A lot of Marios showed up, but also some Final Fantasy characters and Mario’s former rival Sonic. Click on the image for a full sized version.
Ever wanted a NintendoDS with a hot pink top, but a black bottom? Sure, who hasn’t? Now, thanks to Colorware you can have just that. Or, basically, any other horrid combination you can imagine.
Colorware is offering an online custom paint application for the DS. Using it you can color just about any part of the DS whatever you want, including the stylus. They even offer the option to send your current DS in or to buy one from them. The prices, however, will set you back a bit. A fairly basic color scheme will run you $129. (more…)
