Goofy feature ties your PS3 to your iPhone
Here’s something that nobody really seemed to be asking for. What if there was a way to integrate the PS3 with the iPhone? That way, you would never have to put down your new gadget iPhone, even when playing with your new gadget PS3.
Don’t ask and you shall receive. NetBlender is announcing that their BD Touch tehcnology allows for two-way connectivity between the PS3 and iPhone, at least when it comes to the Blu-ray playing capabilities. Sound neat? Well, the potential uses are…sort of.
Mentioned, for instance, is the ability to have the iPhone automatically pull up IMDB info while watching a movie. That would in turn alleviate any arguments you and your spouse might have over that one actor’s name and where you had seen him before. Still, it also comes off as a bit gimmicky.
Sure, the iPhone as a remote control is neat, but unless it works with all of your home electronics, it seems fairly silly for the PS3. It will likely be fun tech to show off with for the hardcore nerds, but a technology quickly ignored and forgotten by most everyone else.
