Sure, you know the questions game designers want you to ask. Do Mario and Peach end up together? What is that planet Master Chief is drifting toward? But what about the more obscure questions that break the very logic of the games? Beware, spoilers lurk ahead.

Interested in helping children? How altruistic of you! Now, what if you could help children and have fun at the same time? Fantastic! What if on top of all that, you could also make yourself smarter by doing so? Sound too good to be true? Joining the quickly crowded field of helping web games, Aid to Children is another vocabulary builder where correct answers get money donated to charity, or in this case World Vision. Now where else on the web are you going to kill three birds with one stone?

What goes better with playing video games than poisoning the environment for future generations? Perhaps melting the polar icecaps? Clubbing baby seals? Okay, that last one went a bit far.
Still, the point is that video games can be very bad for the environment. Take the following five games for instance. Each is addictive to the point of chugging electricity where other games only sip. Ban these five games, and the environment will thank you.

How do you choose between two classic titles? One is very likely the ultimate beat-em-up of the 8-bit era, and the other is the least appealing of a classic RPG franchise. Oh wait–never mind. River City Ransom is the clear choice this week. The fact that a decent, comparable follow-up hasn’t made its way into the modern era is beyond belief for one of the NES’s true cult classics.

One supposes that Midway had the trailer for this title all ready to go about two weeks ago, but then somebody pointed out no one would take it seriously launching around April 1. Now, two weeks later and there’s hardly a soul that can believe it, still. Seriously, while comics are known for their bizarre crossovers and match ups, was this one anyone was really asking for? And what happened to that rebooting of the Mortal Kombat franchise with a hard edge that had long ago been lost? Is the Green Lantern the answer to a hard edge?

A funny thing happened to Resident Evil 5 on its way to release, it became the center of a growing race debate in video games. Of course, this is not shocking really. Not only is one of the few titles to feature a large group of black characters, but they also happen to be the villains who are savagely trying to tear your character apart. But wait, that’s a bit too simplistic of a description.
The fifth Resident Evil title leaves behind the Pacific northwest of the United States and dreary Spanish villages for the sun soaked continent of Africa. In the process, obviously, there’s going to be a significant increase in black characters. You could perhaps set a title in parts of Africa with a mostly white cast, but certainly that would be more than a little disingenuous.

What does the diminutive Wii need more than anything? Not so fast with talk of a hard drive! No, what it really needs is its own personal seven inch screen. That way you can feel even more like a giant while playing it!
Chinavision has head your cries and delivered just such a product. The seven inch monitor is similar to those that have been released in the past for the PS2 and Xbox. It conveniently (at least in pictures) attaches to the system, features stereo speakers, auxiliary AV connectors, and 480×234 resolution.

Johnny Lee is a nerd’s nerd. He wasn’t simply satisfied with owning the hard to find Wii. No, Mr. Lee wanted to make a cool little gaming system even cooler. And he succeeded. That’s a nerd’s nerd.
Specifically, Mr. Lee is behind the famous tech demo using a pair of glasses to make the Wii present actual 3D images using head tracking software. In turn, this technique will now be used in Electronic Arts Boom Blox title. Not too shabby Mr. Lee, but he wasn’t done there. A new tech demo shows off using the Wii as a virtual whiteboard, a use that Lee notes could save schools thousands of dollars. Again, not too shabby.

Atari should perhaps look into making its own Resident Evil rip-off. After all, much like a zombie, nothing seems to kill Atari. Several failed consoles and different company banners, the name looks about ready to get another rebirth.
Infogrames is interested in changing its name to Atari. CEO David Gardner said of the decision, “I’d like to consider that; I think that would be the final mark of the transformation from Infogrames to Atari. We have a new board of directors, a new management team that’s less than a year old — so yes, it’s really continuing. We like to think of Infogrames, instead of being the tired, old company, we like to think of it as the best-funded, best-branded, most energetic start-up in the history of computer gaming.”

Here’s something that nobody really seemed to be asking for. What if there was a way to integrate the PS3 with the iPhone? That way, you would never have to put down your new gadget iPhone, even when playing with your new gadget PS3.
Don’t ask and you shall receive. NetBlender is announcing that their BD Touch tehcnology allows for two-way connectivity between the PS3 and iPhone, at least when it comes to the Blu-ray playing capabilities. Sound neat? Well, the potential uses are…sort of.
