Another year and another Castlevania title for one of Nintendo’s portable devices. There was a time, not too long ago, when Castlevania releases were several years apart. Ever since the series shifted its main focus to Nintendo’s portables, however, the series seems to churn out at least one game a year. This can be both good and bad.
This debut trailer for Castlevania; Order of Ecclesia looks fantastic. The graphics are incredible for the DS and it will probably be a blast to play, like most Castlevania titles. However, on the other hand, this series is getting a little tired. When Symphony of the Night debuted on the PS1 it was a breath of fresh air the series needed. When Circle of the Moon debuted on the GBA, it was more of the same of Symphony, which fans were demanding. Now, several titles later, the series is starting to feel a little stale. Fun? Sure, but something can be both fun and stale (see New Super Mario Bros.). So, how would you spice up the Castlevania series?

I find your article preposterous. I’ve played every Castlevania game that has come out and enjoyed them all. A couple are pretty hard, but otherwise very enjoyable. And I can’t believe you didn’t like the New SMB. I really liked that game. I hate you. We’re no longer friends.
