If you’ve spent much time browsing about online, odds are that you’ve seen those evolutions of Mario complication images. Some have even included Link from The Legend of Zelda. This new one, however, is above all the rest. Not only does it feature Mario, Link, Samus, Donkey Kong and Kirby, but it features a certain blue guest star. Will someone eventually top this one? Yes, but that’s probably a bit much for most. Click on the image for a full sized version.

Do you ever yearn for the simpler times? When computers weren’t made of fancy plastics and metals, but carved straight from the bark of a tree? If you do, perhaps you exist in some alternate timeline from reality. Or, you just really, really want a computer that blends in with your all mahogany study. Whichever way, you’ll love this modded computer in a polished wood case. Except, where most modders would say enough is enough, they go the extra mile and add a nice wood case for the monitor, keyboard and mouse pad. Click on the image for a full sized version.

There really isn’t much to say about this image other than to note how pretty it is graphically (and some might argue the background character, as well). Soul Calibur was the killer-app for the Dreamcast launch all those years ago. It outshone even the excellent for its time Sonic Adventure. While Soul Calibur II was a fair success, many fans felt let down by the PS2 exclusive Soul Calibur III. Now, both fans and Namco hope that the third time is the charm for making a truly worthy sequel that again recaptures the attention of the gaming community. The battlefield series of games have not had the easiest transition from PC to console. While there has been mild acceptance for the console versions, it’s nowhere near the furor that surrounds the PC multiplayer. Electronic Arts hopes to change all of that with Battlefield: Bad Company for the PS3 and Xbox 360. The image is a real screenshot showing off the fantastic explosions and particle effects. Is it the Battlefield to finally bring the PC success over to consoles? Don’t hold your breath, but it should look pretty trying. Click on the image for a full sized version.

Why did you start playing video games? Was it for the instant feedback they provided? Their mind bending stories? Or was it simply for the chance to be transported to somewhere else? Another place? Another time? Classics such as The Legend of Zelda and Zork certainly took gamers on a journey from the normal to the surreal. Today, though, the message seems to be to make games as realistic as possible, and forget the imaginative spark that began so many quests those years ago. Namco hopes you haven’t forgotten completely forgotten that will to discover, as it has announced Tales of Vesperia for the Xbox 360 in North America. Click on the image for a full sized version.

That’s right, you read it here first. The next President of the United States will be a monkey, octopus or hippo. If you’re still reading hoping to have which one revealed, it’s probably a sign of your general distaste in the actual candidates. Regardless, Hail to the Chimp will let you take those animals and slug it out as they compete for the presidency of the animal kingdom. The game is supposed to be a simplified Power Stone meets party game, which already sounds more fun than real politics. The title is for PS3 and Xbox 360. Click on the image for a full sized version.

Valkyrie of the Battlefield, the Sega developed tactical RPG, has been renamed Valkyria Chronicles for the USA and Europe. Most notable to anyone who has seen the game is the artistic take on the graphics. Not content to produce another humdrum looking RPG, Sega has used the power of today’s consoles to turn out a truly beautiful game. How will it play? Well, that’s always more nebulous than looks alone, but it’s a good first step for Sega, a company that has been stumbling as of late. Click on the image for a full sized version.

The new Bionic Commando is one of those games that feels nostalgic, without really being nostalgic. The graphics look sharp and there’s this tingling hope that it just might be fun to play, as well. Still, every time a franchise gets reinvented there’s a collective holding of the breath by the gaming community, and there are few more revered classics that have so far avoided modern cashing-in than Bionic Commando. How will the final product fare? If this new image of the Park level is any indication, at least it has some interesting level design. As always, click the image for a larger version.

Lego Star Wars was a huge surprise hit for many. While the idea of a good Lego game has intrigued many for years, the mix with Star Wars didn’t seem the best way to go about achieving that first big hit. Well, the many were wrong. Now, the follow-ups Lego Indiana Jones and Lego Batman arrive with quite a bit of hype. We’ve been seeing images of Lego Batman for a while now, but this image of Lego Indiana Jones sure is fun. You can decide for yourself whether this is one of the coolest GameCube mods ever made, or simply some really clever viral marketing. Whatever the case, this mod of the GameCube to resemble Wall-E, star of this summer’s new Pixar film, is incredibly cool looking, especially the rust look achieved and the large droopy eyes. There may be more complicated case mods out there, but there are few as charming. Credit goes to thechoozen, a member of the boards over at bit-tech.net.
