Another year and another Castlevania title for one of Nintendo’s portable devices. There was a time, not too long ago, when Castlevania releases were several years apart. Ever since the series shifted its main focus to Nintendo’s portables, however, the series seems to churn out at least one game a year. This can be both good and bad.

Killzone 2 has certainly wowed gamers before. From the original “target” trailer to the later “actual” trailer, the game has provided plenty of eye candy. Of course, it has also provided plenty of controversy thanks to that “target” demo. However, it appears Killzone 2’s critics may finally have to eat their crow.

The original Gears of War is mostly a take it or leave it kind of game. With all the hype surrounding it, many were turned off by its less-than-revolutionary gameplay. Still, those people were obviously in the minority as the game sold a ton and helped cement the Xbox 360’s position ahead of the PS3 for a while to come (no such luck with the Wii).

The original Motorstorm was an oddly controversial title. Odd because who ever considers racing games controversial? Still, Sony managed to make it just that by over hyping and delivering a disappointing demo that wasn’t quite up to the finished product.

Let’s just clear the air right from the start–Baseball Mogul 2009 is not for the arcade crowd. It’s a stats-loving geek’s dream come true, but it will likely not appeal to most fans of baseball video games. That being said, those that do fall within its target demographic will find a very enjoyable game with a few unfortunate stumbles.

No, this is not the Double Dragon game you are looking for. Yes, it is the one you remember as a kid on the NES and not the arcade version you wished it was at the time. More disappointing, however, is that it’s not the vastly superior Double Dragon II. Oh well, perhaps another day. Still, the original is a decent game, but with so many better brawlers out there, such as Double Dragon II and Final Fight, its fond memories are best left in the past.

Ever wondered what some folks did before video games? Before they had a DS or a Wii to draw all those pretty graphics for them? Well, they drew their own. It seems some folks simply can’t give up that old lifestyle, though, as they’ve taken to creating their own hand drawn video games. In this case, you get a pretty fun animation of Mario drawn on the fly.

If there’s one thing that keeps Halo 3 fresh, it’s the opportunity to kill your teammates in wonderfully wild, inventive manners. Yes, your teammates. Killing the other guy is so last gen. Anyway, here are two of the best betrayal videos out there.
