Hey kids, remember when Sonic still starred in cool games and had a shred of credibility?  No?  Well, he did once, and that credibility was used to endorse Honey Nut Cheerios.  Yes, Cheerios do seem like the perfect fit for a blazingly fast rodent.

Sonic the Hedgehog has grown a little tired. Actually, that may be putting it nicely. After his last PS3/Xbox 360 outing, Sonic has grown infirm. That doesn’t mean Sega will stop trying to bring him back.

Sonic Unleashed is their newest offering, which is still somewhat clouded in mystery. What is known is that the new title will apparently be a 2.5D outing that appears to be running on the PS3/Xbox 360. The game will also focus on series mainstays Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles instead of all the side characters. (more…)

Cosplay, if you don’t know, is the act of dressing up like your favorite video game character. Why would you do this? For conventions and Halloween, and just general fun one would guess. Anyway, London was recently the sight of “The Largest Gathering of Games Characters,” an attempt to set a Guinness world record. A lot of Marios showed up, but also some Final Fantasy characters and Mario’s former rival Sonic. Click on the image for a full sized version.

If you’ve spent much time browsing about online, odds are that you’ve seen those evolutions of Mario complication images. Some have even included Link from The Legend of Zelda. This new one, however, is above all the rest. Not only does it feature Mario, Link, Samus, Donkey Kong and Kirby, but it features a certain blue guest star. Will someone eventually top this one? Yes, but that’s probably a bit much for most. Click on the image for a full sized version.
